Surfing Instructor

The centre is looking for a suitable instructor to work mainly with the surf school. The ideal candidate should posses the BSA Level 1 or 2 instructor's certificate.

This position is due to commence at Easter 2004 on either a full or part time basis. Any college requirements post Easter can be accommodated.

Outdoor Activity Instructors

A long established and professional Outdoor Activity centre and Surf School (AALA and BSA accredited) in North Devon requires Outdoor Activity Instructors for the 2004 summer season.

The ideal candidates will have experience of working with a variety of client groups in the outdoor environment. Target groups that will be encountered are varied and will include school children, college students, overseas students and tourists. However, experience with all of these is not vital as full training will be provided. Additionally, the ideal candidates will have National Governing Body instructor’s qualification(s) in one or more of the following:

The personal qualities that the ideal candidate should possess are a professional approach with a patient manner and a flexible attitude to the working environment.  The ability to work on ones own initiative and accept responsibility are vital as you may be working independently much of the time as well as being part of a team.  In-house training will be provided for suitable candidates in specific areas of the course or where the instructor has little or no experience.

Further professional development opportunities will be provide with site specific training and induction into the centres safety management systems, equipment management and storage routines.
